I launched Everybody Eats Lunch as a non profit project in 2017.
In a politically heated time when talking to other Americans could feel difficult, Everybody Eats Lunch brought strangers together for one-on-one meals and conversations, with food donated by 18 different family-owned and fine dining businesses.
Dubbed the “anti-echo chamber” experience by NPR & PBS, the project took place in multiple cities in the U.S. It drew over a thousand sign-ups within the first hours of its launch, and served 200 pairs of people.
All lunches were photographed and recorded. Documentation of the project traveled as an art exhibition.
The project also hosted town hall meetings, so tat participants and business owners could come together, and discuss what it means to break bread during politically heated times.
